Railway operator execs accused of breach of trust

The office of the Athens appeals court prosecutor on Wednesday brought criminal charges against executives at TrainOSE, the operational arm of the Hellenic Railways Organization (OSE), who are alleged to have leased properties belonging to OSE at extremely low prices between 2006 and 2008.

The suspects face charges of breach of trust for their alleged actions which led to estimated losses of some 3 million euros for OSE.

According to sources, many of the buildings are still being leased today.

One property which was leased by the Athens 2004 organizing committee at an annual rate of 4.2 million euros is now being leased for just 1,200 euros per year, according to sources.
