Larissa men failed to report elderly mother’s death
Police in Larissa, central Greece, on Sunday discovered the body of an 82-year-old woman in the home she shared with her two sons, aged 45 and 50, after neighbors complained of a bad smell coming from the apartment.
Early reports suggested the woman had died over a month before and that the siblings had wrapped the body in bed linen and a blanket and had kept the corpse on her bed.
A coroner’s report was expected to reveal the cause of death while the siblings were expected to undergo medical evaluations to determine whether or not they were suffering from mental problems.
