Police guard the house of businessman Nikos Mazarakis at Gortynias St in Aniksi, northern Athens, after he was shot by unidentified assailants last night. Mazarakis, 59, was hit in the neck as he got out of his Mercedes at 9.20 p.m. He was at the Erythros Stavros Hospital but his condition was ‘not serious,’ reports said. Two assailants escaped on a motorcycle. A.22 cartridge was at the scene. It was not clear if it was a terrorist attack.
