Golden Dawn trial adjourned, yet again, until June 4

The trial of Golden Dawn leaders and members at Korydallos Prison was adjourned on Friday, just a few hours after resuming, after defense lawyers protested against upheaval caused on the premises by anti-establishment protesters who burst into the makeshift courtroom.

The decision to adjourn the trial yet again came after a group of protesters barged into the GD trial and hurled bottles at journalists, shouting “fascists” and “the gallows are coming.” The protesters were being escorted by police to an adjacent courtroom for a trial of alleged members of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire guerrilla group when they broke away.

Lawyers representing GD MPs and supporters are demanding a change of venue for security reasons. Local authorities and residents also want the trial moved to the Athens Appeals Court as schools are to host university entrance exams from next week.
