Ultimatum from lenders would lead to referendum, says SYRIZA spokesman
The government will hold a referendum if it is given a “take it or leave it” offer by Greece’s lenders, according to SYRIZA’s parliamentary spokesman Nikos Filis.
“Negotiations are entering a crucial few days,” Filis told Skai TV on Monday morning.
Filis said he is certain that if the government reaches an agreement with the institutions, it will be accepted by coalition MPs.
However, he said that if Athens is given an ultimatum, then “the people will be called on to give an answer.”
