Larissa court upholds sentence in child pornography case

A Larissa appeals court has upheld an earlier ruling sentencing a 56-year-old man found guilty of child pornography offenses to 15 years in prison.

The court rejected the defendant’s appeal for any reduction to his jail sentence, which was imposed in February 2014 after judges found him guilty of possessing pornographic material involving minors following his arrest in October 2008.

The 56-year-old, who was found to have been collecting the illegal material since 2005 until the day of his arrest, was also fined 75,000 euros during his original conviction.
