Error in settings led to Greek F-16 jet crash in Spain

A Greek F-16 jet which crashed during take-off in Spain in January lost its balance after an error occurred in the plane’s settings, a report compiled by international experts revealed on Thursday.

The jet’s two Greek pilots and another nine French airmen were killed in the accident which took place at a NATO training base in Albacete.

The error appears to have been the result of an object shifting in the cockpit. This led to unintentional changes in the settings of the jet's aerodymanic compensators system, the report said.
