Man, 85, accused of molesting 5-year-old girl
An 85-year-old man from a rural part of western Fthiotida, central Greece, stands accused of sexually abusing his 60-year-old girlfriend’s 5-year-old granddaughter, who lived with the couple.
The man was arrested after doctors questioned the child, who had been taken to a hospital in the town of Lamia by the couple after complaining of pain in her genital area. A psychologist who examined the girl said there was evidence that she had been the victim of abuse in recent months, though a gynecologist could not confirm allegations of forced intercourse.
The 5-year-old has been transferred to a hospital in Athens where she will undergo further examination.
