Study finds Greeks are Europe’s most excessive Internet users

Greeks are “immature” Web users, a study for the second half of 2014 by the European Union’s Insafe network has found.

With data from 31 hotlines in Europe and Russia, the study found that 31 percent of Greek users spend an excessive amount of time on the Internet, far above the regional average of 5 percent.

Online bullying is also prolific, with 19 percent of Greek users having reported such incidents and 16 percent also claiming that their privacy had been violated.

The Greek hotline, meanwhile, said it received 180 reports of excessive use, 96 of privacy violations and 65 of cyberbullying in the first quarter of this year.
