Man stabbed while trying to prevent suicide
A Romanian man was being treated for serious knife wounds at a hospital in Iraklio, Crete, on Thursday after being stabbed by a 28-year-old compatriot who subsequently committed suicide on Wednesday night.
According to police, the man tried to stop the 28-year-old from plunging off the balcony of his home and, in the process, the latter lashed out at him with a knife before jumping.
Police on the island were seeking to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
