Link sought in drug busts
Judicial authorities are being tasked with finding an evidentiary link between two major drug seizures over the past few days after a local police station ordered a raid without alerting the central drug agency in Athens, possibly compromising months of investigations.
Kathimerini understands that the raid on a large illegal hydroponic cannabis plantation in Nafplio last week forced the central drug agency to proceed with the arrest of three Greeks suspected of running the operation but against whom the investigation was incomplete. It is also said to have prompted the Financial Crimes Squad to push up a raid on another illegal plantation, in Fthiotida, where 1,680 plants were seized.
