ND election: Tzitzikostas agrees to meeting proposed by Meimarakis
Outgoing New Democracy chief Evangelos Meimarakis on Monday hailed a decision by one of his three rivals for the presidency of the conservative party to agree to a meeting between the contenders.
“I am pleased that even with some delay one of the candidates has agreed to a part of our proposal,” Meimarakis said in reference to comments by candidate Apostolos Tzitzikostas, governor of Central Macedonia.
Meimarakis wants the meeting to be held on November 18, four days before the elections, so candidates can discuss procedure.
