Alleged child molester remanded in pretrial custody
A 56-year-old TV worker in the northern port city of Thessaloniki accused of raping a 9-year-old girl and filming the molestation was remanded in pretrial custody on Monday.
In his testimony to a local magistrate, the 56-year-old denied the charges related to the rape of a minor.
He did, however, plead guilty to owning and distributing pornographic material featuring minors, which police had discovered on his home computer.
The divorced father of two said that he is an alcoholic and has psychological problems.
