Subsidies for Greek political parties approved
Greece's Interior Minister Panayiotis Kouroublis on Friday approved the payment of the second half of the annual state subsidy for political parties.
A total of 4.5 million euros is to be paid out to 12 parties.
Since this year’s payment is based on the results of the 2012 national elections and the European Parliament vote in 2014, New Democracy will receive the largest payment from the second tranche.
The conservatives will get 1.25 million euros, while SYRIZA will receive 1.14 million.
Any party receiving more than 1.5 percent of the vote in either of the elections was eligible for state funding.
