Russian destroyer fired warning shots in near collision with Turkish fishing boat off Lemnos

A Russian destroyer avoided a collision with a Turkish vessel in the Aegean Sea on Sunday, the defence ministry said, adding that it has summoned Ankara's military attache over the incident.

"The crew of the Russian patrol ship Smetlivy which was located 22 kilometres from the Greek island of Lemnos in the northern part of the Aegean Sea avoided collision with a Turkish seiner," the defence ministry said, adding that the crew had fired small arms to warn the vessel.
