Three of six migrants confirmed drowned
Greek coast guard officers recovered the bodies of three of the six people who were reported missing after their boat capsized off the coast of Kastelorizo as they tried to reach Greece from Turkey on Tuesday morning.
The authorities said three of the passengers were confirmed drowned as the search continued for the other three.
Greek coast guards were alerted by their Turkish counterparts after the latter rescued 12 migrants who had managed to swim to a small islet off Turkey’s coast and another five people from the sea.
The nationality of the passengers was not clear.
