Minister launches probe into mining complaints

Greek Justice Minister Nikos Paraskevopoulos said on Thursday that he is launching an internal investigation into whether the prosecutor’s office in Halkidiki failed to follow up properly on complaints lodged by local residents against mining activity in the area.

“I assure you that the possibility of delays will be investigated in great detail,” said the minister.
