Judges ask for more information from Cyprus before extradition verdict

The Council of Appeals Court Judges asked Cypriot authorities on Monday to provide more information before issuing a decision on whether construction magnate Leonidas Bobolas should be extradited to Cyprus, where he is wanted in connection to an investigation into waste management contracts.

The Greek judicial officials asked Cyprus to provide the additional information within the next two weeks so the council can convene again on May 6.

Until then, Bobolas has been barred from leaving Greece. The Cypriot investigation concerns Helector, a subsidiary of Ellaktor, where Bobolas is the CEO, and how it gained contracts to run the Marathounda and Koshi landfills on Cyprus.
