More than 53,700 migrants and refugees stranded in Greece
A total of 53,731 migrants and asylum-seekers are currently in Greece according to fresh data provided by the government.
According to the data, which were made public Wednesday, 29,277 migrants and refugees are currently in northern Greece, 13,981 in Attica, 8,212 on the eastern Aegean islands and the rest scattered around the country.
Authorities reported 55 arrivals in the past 24 hours.
