Twelve ex Potami officials move to ND
Twelve former officials of the centrist To Potami party on Thursday announced they were joining the ranks of Greece’s conservative opposition.
“New Democracy, under Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is the only force that can spearhead an effective campaign… to reform Greece,” the 12 said in a statement.
“Mitsotakis has, after all, never made secret of his desire to turn New Democracy into the main rallying point for the country’s pro-Europe, pro-reform forces,” they said.
Stavros Theodorakis’s party has been struggling in opinion polls with recent surveys showing it slipping below the 3 percent threshold for entering parliament.
