Tsakalotos sees ‘ambiguity,’ ‘uncertainty’ after UK vote

Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos has sought to douse speculation of a Greek exit from the eurozone following the outcome of UK’s referendum on EU membership.

In comments made to SYRIZA’s central committee on Sunday, Tsakalotos said there was no issue of Grexit following the vote. The victory of the “Leave” campaign in the UK will generate “ambiguity and uncertainty” in Europe’s economies, he said, adding that it will also ignite a debate on “centrifugal forces” across the bloc.

“What we need is a better and more democratic Europe,” Tsakalotos said.
