Court rejects appeals for leniency in Noor 1 heroin smuggling case

A Piraeus court on Thursday rejected appeals by lawyers representing defendants in the Noor 1 heroin smuggling trial for leniency to be shown in sentencing in view of their previous clean records.

The court deemed that none of the defendants should be shown any leniency. The terms are expected to be announced next Wednesday when the court is to reconvene.
