Three arrested for smuggling migrants

Border guards arrested three people in Prespes, northwestern Greece, on Tuesday for attempting to smuggle 31 refugees into Albania.

Prespes border guards discovered 11 children among 24 Syrian and seven Afghan refugees in a rented van that was being driven by a 27-year-old and was heading to Vrontero, the last village before the Albanian border.

Two men in another vehicle believed to be acting as an escort were also arrested. The migrants were to be transferred to reception centers.
