Fugitives caught to face judges

Terrorist suspect Costas Sakkas and bank robber Marios Seisidis are expected to appear in court on Monday following their arrest in the Peloponnese this week.

Sakkas, an alleged member of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire urban guerrilla group, and Seisidis, a bank robber who had been wanted for years by police, were arrested after trying to avoid a random inspection by police Sparta on Thursday.

They were identified from their arrest warrants.

The warrant for Sakkas was issued when he disappeared in 2014 after violating the terms of his conditional release from prison, while Seisidis is facing charges for participation in a string of bank robberies carried out or attempted with his brother Simos and a man identified as Grigoris Tsironis, nearly 10 years ago.
