Two swimmers drown off Iraklio beaches within 24 hours
Lifeguards on the beaches of Iraklio in Crete were on alert on Tuesday after two people drowned within 24 hours.
A 31-year-old Latvian tourist died early on Monday morning after going for a swim at Kato Gouves beach in the resort of Hersonissos.
His death followed that of a 67-year-old Greek man, who drowned on Sunday afternoon after going for a swim at Kokkini Hani beach.
