Church to name experts for discussions with Education Ministry
The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece said Wednesday that the composition of a committee of experts that will engage in dialogue with the Education Ministry over the way religion is taught at school, will be announced on November 1.
The announcement came amid disagreements between the government and the Church of Greece over religion courses at the country’s public schools.
Archbishop Ieronymos and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras agreed recently to launch talks on the matter.
