Police detain students and parents at school sit-ins
Police early on Friday raided the grounds of two secondary schools in Lamia where pupils had been holding sit-ins in protest at cutbacks and poor infrastructure.
Officers who entered the school grounds with a prosecutor detained 11 people following the raids.
Ten pupils and one parent had been staging a sit-in at one of the schools while four pupils were removed from the second school.
Earlier this week, parents staged a similar sit-in at a Thessaloniki primary school to protest against teacher shortages there.
