Many arrested after fires break out in and around Chios refugee, migrant camp
Greek riot police forces detained several people at a refugee and migrant processing camp located in the area of Souda,on the eastern Aegean island of Chios, late Wednesday, after fires broke out on the camp and the vicinity.
Initial reports suggested that early in the day, a group of refugees and migrants removed a road sign before breaking the window of a store specializing in fireworks. They allegedly proceeded to launch fireworks at nearby stores, residences and the processing camp.
The fire service was called to put out the blazes. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
