Savvas Tsitouridis. He is a member of the former «captains» group who took the initiative to propose Costas Karamanlis for party leader. Tsitouridis has provided the current prime minister with continuous support although he was never appointed to any official party post. A parliamentary deputy for Kilkis since 1996, the 50-year-old Tsitouridis, a lawyer and economist by profession, is entering a Cabinet for the first time.
