Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis kisses the hand of Archbishop Christodoulos during the swearing in of the new Parliament yesterday. Karamanlis led his conservative New Democracy party to win 165 seats in the March 7 elections. PASOK won 117; the Communist Party, 12, and Synaspismos Left Coalition, six. Karamanlis will present his government’s policy on Saturday before a confidence vote at midnight on Monday.
