Robbery in Thessaloniki gone wrong

A man who robbed a betting agency in Thessaloniki at gunpoint late Thursday evening was left with far less than what he bargained for as he dropped much of his somewhat meager takings in the street as he made his getaway.

According to local reports, the culprit entered an OPAP betting agency in the suburb of Kordelio at around 11 p.m. on Thursday and, brandishing a gun, forced the 65-year-old proprietor to hand over his cash.

All the owner could come up with was 110 euros, but the robber was left with even less when he dropped most of it on the street. Police were looking for the suspect.
