Crete jolted by mild earthquake

A moderate earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale shook the region of Rethymno on Crete shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

There were no reports of injuries or serious damage. The epicenter of the quake was located some 13 kilometers southwest of the port of Rethymno, according to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens.
