Lagonissi fire injures firemen, threatens homes
About 30 firefighters assisted by 15 fire engines and two water-dropping helicopters was battling a quick-spreading wildfire in Lagonissi, southeast of Athens, Thursday with authorities evacuating several homes in the area.
The fire was being fanned by strong winds.
According to reports, one fire engine has been burned and four firemen have been admitted to hospital after suffering minor burns.
