Lot of fuss about a bridge

At the Nerantziotissa station, where the ISAP route will meet the suburban rail line when it is completed, difficulties in constructing the futuristic bridge designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, who also designed the new roof of the main Olympic Stadium, led to the plan being shelved once the authorities realized, some months after the design was completed, that the bridge would not withstand rush-hour crowds. Instead, an ordinary bridge is to be built, at a reduced cost but which will only be completed shortly before the Games begin.
