Man sought for cashing dead wife’s checks for four years
Police in Thessaloniki on Tuesday were seeking a 71-year-old man who had allegedly been pocketing the disability benefit of his dead wife for the past four years.
According to police sources, the man failed to report the death of his wife, who was a paraplegic, in 2014 so that he could continue cashing her benefit checks.
The suspect illegally claimed 29,796 euros through state benefit fraud, according to the same sources.
