The two goals
What are the goals you have set as minister of education? I think there are two: The first is to pull the ministry out of any kind of inter-party confrontation that exists purely for the sake of confrontation. Because only through this will we be able to succeed on a matter where much effort is needed by many people over a long period of time, probably for meager results at first. But there is no other way. We must leave behind petty party interests, because this will pave the way for a national consensus. What’s the second goal? We must work very hard, with all our soul, heart and mind. Frequently, there are proposals that look great on paper but are not implemented by personnel and consequently are failures, while other more modest proposals that gain acceptance and are decisively implemented have great social effectiveness.
