When lightning strikes 103,000 times
Lightning hit Greece almost 103,000 times last month, the highest number of strikes since 2005, when records began, the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) has said.
The NOA’s Zeus long-range lightning detection network recorded 102,944 lightning strikes in July, beating the previous monthly record of 83,373 registered in the same month in 2009.
