Holding an Olympic torch above New York’s Times Square, former gymnastics star Nadia Comaneci (c) is lowered by a wire above a crowd during a ceremony on Saturday for the arrival of the Olympic Flame in the city. The flame also went to the United Nations, where it was received by Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Yesterday, it arrived in Canada.
