Dozens of Ukrainian immigrants gathered outside Parliament in central Athens yesterday to voice support for Ukraine opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko in the controversy over the result of Sunday’s presidential elections. Ukraine’s central election commission yesterday gave pro-Moscow candidate Viktor Yanukovich a 3 percent win. The vote has been condemned by both the EU and the US due to alleged fraud. Athens has a large Ukrainian immigrant community.
