President Costis Stephanopoulos glances at a close-flying Belgian air force F-16 fighter escorting the presidential jet to Brussels, where he began his last official foreign visit on Tuesday. Stephanopoulos, whose second term in office expires next month, yesterday visited Namur, capital of Belgium’s Walloon region, before traveling back to Brussels where he attended a service at a Greek Orthodox church. Addressing the local Greek community, the president voiced hopes that outstanding problems in Greek-Turkish relations could be resolved by the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
