Papandreou courts minority groups PASOK leader George Papandreou visited the Polish House in Athens yesterday as part of the second day of a nationwide dialogue on immigration. The head of the Socialist main opposition party, who has Polish roots on his father’s side, called on immigrants to take part in PASOK’s activities and to help elect their own representatives at the party conference. Lift horror Two Ukranian nationals were killed last night after apparently being crushed to death in a Kolonaki apartment block elevator. The lift became stuck between floors and residents called the fire brigade but both women, in their 40s, were already dead by the time they managed to gain access to the lift. One of the women was in a wheelchair, which apparently snagged in the lift shaft, causing the accident, officers said.
