A protester is silhouetted…

A protester is silhouetted against a banner during yesterday’s central Athens march to the Ministry of Labor by shop assistants demonstrating against government plans to extend store opening hours. Similar protests, accompanied by four-hour work stoppages, were held in other Greek towns. Deputy Labor Minister Gerasimos Giakoumatos told a union delegation that the government did not intend to change shop opening hours in Athens and Piraeus, but was considering alterations for the rest of Greece.
