Greece’s soccer team celebrates…

Greece’s soccer team celebrates scoring the winning goal in injury time against Kazakhstan during the World Cup qualifying match in Almaty yesterday. Otto Rehhagel’s team won the game 2-1 after going behind in the 53rd minute. Midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos and striker Nikos Lymberopoulos, who came on as a second-half substitute, were the goal scorers for Greece. The win briefly took the Greeks to second place in their group as Turkey recaptured the position later in the day after beating group leader Ukraine. If Greece wins its two remaining games, it will qualify for a play-off match to book a place at next year’s World Cup in Germany.
