The survey also turned up some interesting facts regarding where people get books. Nearly 25 percent said they shopped at small bookshops, 21.3 percent at major bookstores, 8.2 percent from kiosks (indicating a revival in the Greek paperback market), 8 percent from book fairs, 0.7 percent from supermarkets and just 0.5 percent from the Internet. The nationwide survey, commissioned by the National Book Center from VPRC, was carried out between January 4 and March 14, 2004, through face-to-face interviews in the respondents’ homes. The total sample was 2,861.
