Elusive lottery winner sought

The elusive owner of a winning lottery ticket worth 5 million euros had not yet claimed his winnings yesterday evening. The owner of ticket number 08530 from the eighth series, which was drawn on Saturday as the winning ticket in the New Year’s Eve national lottery, has yet to come forward, according to the manager of the Othon betting shop in the northeastern town of Kavala from which the lucky ticket was purchased. If the owner of the winning ticket bought it as one of a set of five, he may be eligible for an even bigger cash prize – up to 10 million euros. It is the first time that the winning New Year’s lottery ticket has been bought from a Kavala betting shop. It is believed that the winning ticket was purchased by a local resident. Those who bought lottery tickets bearing the same number but from a different series win 20,000 euros. Tickets from the eighth series with the numbers 08526, 08527, 08528 and 08529 win 1.25 million euros each.
