Greek think tanks, businesses discuss risk-taking experiences at conference
Wednesday’s conference featuring Neil Armstrong was the product of Kariera and Business Seminars, with help from Celebrityworks. The two prior panels discussed experiences from NGOs and the business world. The first featured Dimitris Efremoglou from the Foundation of the Hellenic World; Georgios Vernikos, director of the Greek office of Greenpeace; Eleni Kakalou from the Greek office of Medecins sans Frontieres, now operative in 85 countries in combating everything from tuberculosis in Siberian jails to cholera in Zaire; and a video interlude chronicling how J.R.R. Tolkien’s «Lord of the Rings» trilogy was brought to the big screen. The second panel included publisher Antonis Lymberis; Spiros Theodoropoulos of food empire BrandCo; Giorgos Korres, owner of the oldest homeopathic pharmacy in Greece, who says he believes that making the first step is the most important decision of all; and Georgios Gerardos of Plaisio computers, who exhorted his listeners to realize that «life is a battle.»
