Australia beat Greece 1-0 in their last warmup match at home before leaving for the World Cup in Germany. The game was watched by some 95,000 fans – about half of whom were Greek Australians, according to estimates. After Greece’s poor performance, national coach Otto Rehhagel said his players did not compete enough during the game and appeared to be looking forward to their summer holidays. Rehhagel said he was happy that some young players were making his team.
