Self-described anarchists…

Self-described anarchists clash with riot police outside Athens University yesterday during a student rally opposing the government’s proposed reforms to tertiary education. Despite high temperatures, some 3,000 students took part in the rally, organizers said. Authorities said nine people were detained, of whom three were arrested for having in their possession Molotov cocktails, metal weapons and clubs. Some 400 university facilities and departments around Greece have been taken over by students staging sit-ins as a means of protesting against the reforms.
