Firefighters attempt to extinguish a blaze that broke out yesterday on the Syngrou estate in Maroussi, northern Athens. Authorities said that 39 firefighters using 13 trucks took part in the operation, which also involved two water-dropping planes and a helicopter. Firefighters said it took about 30 minutes to control that blaze that broke out at 11.40 a.m. There were no reports of injuries and no homes were threatened, authorities added.
