A plume of smoke rose above Thessaloniki yesterday after a fire broke out at a paint factory on the city’s western outskirts. Firefighters were struggling last night to contain the fire, which burned paint and white spirit in the factory’s warehouse. Authorities said it had also burned some electricity cables but no injuries were reported.
